33rd Annual OB Restaurant Walk

Don't miss the foodie event of the year for Ocean Beach - the annual RESTAURANT WALK! WIth over 40 restaurants and local businesses participating, this is a great way to discover places in OB you may have never seen, or visit the places you already know and love. Tickets will go on sale Nov 1st at the OBMA office on Bacon Street and other business locations throughout OB. 800 tickets will be available at $20 each - and GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY - this event sells out every year! The restaurant walk lasts from 5:00 to 9:00 and all proceeds go towards the annual OBTC Food and Toy Drive which helps over 80 local families and seniors in need during the holidays!

Businesses participating this year so far include: The Joint, Newport Quik, The Harp, CaioBella, Java Joe’s, Starbucks, Bar-B-Q House, Beach SweetS, Sunshine Co Saloon, Tony’s, Cheswicks West, Gallagher’s Pub, Jungle Java, Newport Pizza & Ale,Lighthouse Ice Cream, South Beach Bar, El Rodeo, Nick’s at the Pier, Shades Oceanfront Bistro, The Blue Parrot, Raglan Public House, Poma’s Deli, The Arizona, Winston’s, Elsbree House B & B, Thai Time, Espresso Pizza, Pirates Cove, Mothers Saloon, BoBeau, The Third Corner, OB Noodle House, Tiny’s Tavern, Tikiport, Lucy’s Tavern, O'Bistro, OB subway and Café Bella.

Every Saturday in December, Santa will come to OB to visit with local kids and find out who has been naughty or nice! Kids of all ages (and adults too) are invited to the end of Newport Avenue (at Abbott) to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they want this holiday season!

December 1, 2012 - 5:05 PM (OB Time!)- For over 30 years, our quaint little surfing village of Ocean Beach, or OB to those in the know, has hosted one of the best Christmas Parades in SoCal. Starting around 5:05 pm on Saturday, December 1st, Newport Avenue is lined with colorful OBceans and visitors all eagerly awaiting the awe-inspiring big event. For some, it’s the excitement of seeing the local yoga studio performing rubber band like moves as they make their way down the street or the roller derby girls in their eye-catching costumes. For others, it’s watching the VW Beetle club and classic Woodies roll down Newport Ave. Some even prefer the motorcycles, bright lit floats and countless bands that fill the beach with live music. So, in other words, whatever your pleasure, OB has it all in our rendition of the Christmas March. And…of course…the big man himself, Santa Claus, will be making his appearance.

After the festivities, the nightlife of OB takes off as the locals and visitors celebrate and spread even more Holiday Cheer in one of the many local bars and eateries.

People of all ages are invited join us at this fun-filled event – costumes, cheering and laughter are not only welcomed, they are encouraged!

Come find out what the locals have known for over 30 years - Santa would rather be in OB!
